One of the many joys of Perfect Hideaways’ unfolding story has been the addition of hideaways in new countries, and especially thrilling, new continents. So, while the focus of our collection remains determinedly local, we do love a story of fusion… enter stage left African Jacquard!

When Christine Daron, the French founder of African Jacquard, first set foot in Africa she was instantly captivated by its rich cultures and vivid landscapes. This encounter sparked a vision: to merge the bold, expressive patterns of Africa with the refined tradition of French Jacquard weaving.

From this fusion, African Jacquard was born – a Cape Town-based studio and mill where tradition meets innovation. Each textile tells a story of heritage, place and the skilled hands that craft it. The result is a collection of distinctive, travel-inspired pieces that are both luxurious and effortlessly practical, rooted in culture and woven with care.
